During research into references mentioned in the play material was discovered such as the poem that inspired new music for Martyn Jaques’ version of “England” that appears in Act 1.
The original ‘Hymn of Hate’ against England was written by Ernst Lissauer. He seems to have intended the verses as a propaganda piece https://behindtheirlines.blogspot.com/2016/01/hymn-of-hate.html
